Bike Workshop in Christchurch
We live to ride, but we love working on bikes too. Our workshop is the ideal space for making bikes run like a dream, with the tools, nerdy bike knowledge, and relaxed approach needed to get the job done.
One thing we never compromise on is quality. It’s an obsession in everything we do, from organising our workshop to servicing a fork to making sure we have tools for every type of job.
We can handle any type of bike maintenance or repair work that you need, and we work on all types of bikes. From fixing a broken spoke to building a fully bespoke bike, we do it all.
And we are open to all too. We’re proud of our open-door approach, so whether you need to fix a flat tyre, or your bike needs a complete rebuild, you’re welcome here at Back Alley Bikes.
We are also excited to be an authorised display location and service centre for YT bikes. While YT is sold exclusively online through Day Zero, you can now check out their latest models in person right here in our shop. Come visit us to see these high-performance bikes up close and talk to our team for expert advice before making your purchase.
Details of our common maintenance services are below. However, we can customise our services and pricing according to your requirements, so get in touch to discuss what you need.
- Basic Tune* $75: We'll assess the bike for any dangerous damage or wear and tear. We'll then tune the brakes and gears before checking over all the nuts and bolts.
- EBike General Service* 135: Everything you get on the Basic Tune plus a diagnostic scan and software updates.
- Pro Tune* $185: Everything you get in the Basic Tune plus a more in-depth look at the wheels, bottom bracket, and headset.
- Premium Tune for Hardtail and Road Bikes* $295: This service is a top to bottom rebuild where we strip the bike back to its bare frame and rebuild it from the ground up. This is a great option if you’re looking to fit new or upgraded parts.
- Premium Tune for Full Suspension Bikes* $395: This is a top to bottom rebuild where we strip the bike back to its bare frame, including all the pivots and linkages. We'll then rebuild the bike from the ground up. Again, it’s a great option if you’re looking to fit new or upgraded parts.
